Sometimes we are so blinded by everyday living that we forget to see Jesus in all we do. We never know what blessing he will give us or what disaster he will keep us safe from. Have you ever seen a picture of someone using one round eyepiece squished in their eye? This craft is just a quick reminder, silly though it looks, that we need to see Jesus all around us. Bring Him into focus.
The kids got a kick out of putting as many eyeballs as they could on their eyes and making it look crazy. They turned to me and said, “I’ve got my eyes on you”. Gotta love ’em. You can see what I used to decorate, but really, use up anything you have on hand. No foam? Don’t worry, cut up a cereal box. No googly eyes? Don’t worry, draw them on. The point is we need to teach our children that God is in everything we do and we need to thank Him for that.
- foam or cardboard for the circle and cut out an eye hole
- pipe cleaner taped on to hold the binocular
- glue or tape and things to decorate with
- a tablecloth
Go ahead, have some fun and pray that you will see Jesus in all you do!
